Salon

Celebrity hair stylist Trey Gillen opened the doors to this modern, chic, and intimate 1,800 square foot salon between the affluent neighborhoods of West University and River Oaks in Houston, Texas.

Using the timeless, cozy influence of mid-century modern style, tre spa was designed in conjunction with renowned Houston Interior Designer, Lynn Gray. Together Trey and Lynn created a serene, white space that is sleek and welcoming, using a blend of luxurious materials and crisp details throughout.

With its exquisite espresso stained red oak floors original to the space since the 1930’s, custom cork cabinetry, and seamless white walls, the salon is separated into various private workspaces. The stylists work stations and shampoo units are from Italian salon design company Gamma & Bross. The spacious yet masculine feel of the shampoo/treatment room provides a soothing juxtaposition where clients can relax while stylists offer customized services and the Gamma & Bross shampoo chairs provide a full bodied Shiatsu massage, all while listening to tranquil music from the room’s independent sound system.

Upon entering Tre Spa a lovely flowering bed, equipped with a reflection fountain extends the entire width of the building. In the foyer clients are greeted with the wallpaper of unique designer Orla Kiely from the UK. Contemporary and conscientious artwork by prestigious Texas artist Christina Karll is found throughout the salon. The beauty of the space is further enhanced by its accents of lime, aubergine, orange and soft metallics that appear in the furniture, textiles and finishing touches. Floral arrangements are spread throughout and luxury abounds.

A true reflection of Trey’s commitment to excellence this salon was designed to cater to his exclusive client roster, which includes designers, artists, models, celebrities and socialites. “ I wanted to give Houston a salon where clients could relax and enjoy having their hair done in ultimate comfort, privacy, and luxury right in the epicenter of town,” says Trey.
